Hello Young Nats, Lambton Wildlife Inc. and the Young Nats are thrilled to be holding our 4th annual Christmas Bird Count for Kids (CBC4KIDS) on January 4th, 2025 from 9:30am - Noon at Canatara Park.  Come on out with your parent or guardian and join us while we see what birds are hanging out in our forest, beaches and pond. The Pinery Butterfly Count will be held on Saturday June 22, 2024. It is a NABA Count. (North American Butterfly Association) and there is a $5.00 administration fee per person. Participants are asked to meet at the Chalet between 8:30-9:00 a.m. (Ask for directions at the gate). Courtesy entry into the park will be allowed provided you confirm your attendance by June 17th with Sharon Nethercott. NABA discourages use of nets and encourages participants to photograph the butterflies they see. Participants will be divided into groups to include a cross section of experience levels. LWI Environmental Award Max Morden received the Lambton Wildlife Environmental Award at the LWI 2023 Annual General Meeting on behalf of The Lakeshore Eco Network. The Lakeshore Eco Network is a motivated group of people on the Huron coast working to plant native species and fight climate change. They are advocating for an environmental advisory committee in Lambton Shores, and were recentlyout in the rain at a rally to draw attention to policy changes in Ontario that endanger farmland, wetlands, and other natural areas.
