Annual Butterfly Count

June 22, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 4:00 pm

More than just a pretty face, butterflies can serve as indicators for the ecosystem health and biodiversity. Collected over many years, this valuable information not only helps monitor butterfly populations but also aids in the early detection of environmental issues. The event also gives butterfly aficionados a chance to mingle, have fun and raise public awareness about butterflies. Data will be submitted to the North American Butterfly Association.

Meet 8:30 am at the Pinery Provincial Park Visitor Centre. Inform staff at the main entrance that you are participating in the count. There is a $5:00 fee. Contact Brenda to register by June 1st. Licence Plate # required to enter Pinery.

Rain date the 23rd.
