CANCELLED – Intersections of Science, Social Media and Insects w/ Special Guest Sophia Spencer

March 30, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

In place of our usual social period, join us at 7pm for a special family-friendly spotlight before the presentation, where we will have The Book Keeper and Sophia Spencer, an 11-year-old co-author, and star of “THE BUG GIRL: A TRUE STORY” with some books available to buy and sign. If you already purchased your book now’s your chance to get it signed. Brandy Fenwick, LWI President will read an excerpt from the book as well. It just so happens our main feature shares a special role in this story.

For our main feature, A former Lambton-County resident, Dr. Morgan Jackson, is a PhD entomologist who has found a real love for communicating his passion via podcasts, blogs, and social media. Fascinated by flies’ biodiversity, and taxonomy, Dr. Morgan Jackson has found a way to share the amazing world of insects by embracing and incorporating social media into his day to day research.

Come meet these two characters of a real-life story and find out how their paths crossed at this fun for the family presentation. Guests and new members always welcome.
