Newport Forest Walk

September 21, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Meet: 9:00 am at the Lambton mall parking lot near Canadian Tire or the Newport Forest at 10 am. LWI’s first visit to this Thames Talbot Land Trust property. The Newport Forest is a 110-acre property lying on the south bank of the Thames River and includes a mixture of habitats. Rare plant species such as Cup Plant, Wingstem and Virginia Bluebells grow here naturally and the meadows support grassland birds such as Eastern Bluebirds and Meadowlarks. A Thames Talbot Land Trust property steward will be joining/co-leading us.

For more information about the property, including its history and a map of the location, please visit the Thames Talbot Land Trust website.

At the bottom of the page is a link to download their Newport Forest fact sheet.

Leader: Larry Cornelis

Below is a video about the forest, which was prepared by the London Community Foundation.
