Young Naturalists – Humongous Fungus

October 6, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

You will never look at your pizza the same way again! Come learn about the humongous impact the fungus among us has on our lives while we explore the diversity hiking Mandaumin Woods.

Seemingly small and insignificant, they are anything but. Beyond view as these strange creatures penetrate within and beneath forests, building underground networks where deals are made in a complex web of friendships, rivalries, and business relations. Walking among the giant trees, we’ll explore a kingdom of mysteries, from a microscopic spore, to what pops up from the forest floor. It will turn your understanding of forests upside down!

Bring your cellphones and pre-download the Seek app (free) here to participate in collecting species badges and leveling up your mushroom game!

Please RSVP by emailing the names and ages of participants and the name of the parent or guardian who will be accompanying to m.kent@lambtonwildlife.com
