Mandaumin Woods Nature Reserve 50th Celebration

On May 1, Lambton Wildlife Inc. celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the purchase of Mandaumin Woods Nature Reserve. Roberta Buchanan, property manager for the reserve, welcomed more than 75 people to the celebration and introduced Gerry Clements, one of the founding members of Lambton Wildlife. Lambton Wildlife Inc. needs volunteers to begin site preparation for planting native plants at Mandaumin Woods Nature Reserve. Date: November 4, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. Please wear long pants, work gloves, closed toed shoes, and bring your own mask to wear in the event that social distancing is not possible. We will be removing small brush with loppers (branch pruners) and picking up garbage. Giving Nature a Helping Hand

On October 18, 2020, fifteen volunteers from Lambton Wildlife Inc. braved the rain to plant native Carolinian trees at Mandaumin Woods Nature Reserve. These ecologically valuable trees, purchased with funds provided by Enbridge, will support many birds, butterflies, moths, and other native wildlife. A big thank you goes out to Enbridge for their support of Lambton Wildlife Inc.  Roberta Buchanan, property manager for Mandaumin Woods Nature Reserve, welcomed the volunteers and introduced Larry Cornelis who explained why it is important to plant trees at the reserve. Tree Planting at Sydenham River Nature Reserve

Sydenham River Nature Reserve Tree Planting On October 5, twenty enthusiastic naturalist from Lambton Wildlife Inc. (LWI) and Sydenham Field Naturalists (SFN) planted more than a thousand tree seeds, as another step toward restoring Sydenham River Nature Reserve (SRNR) to its natural state.  Oak, Hickory, Beech, Ironwood, along with other tree species were planted; all from seeds that were gathered from SRNR.
